Goals and Scope of Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation is a process, product, or program that deliberately arranged so that people with disabilities can develop their potential to the proper functioning optimally or their potential so as to achieve personal satisfaction and unseen.

In conducting the rehabilitation program, patients must have active attitude, meaning that sufferers do not say anything, waiting for a new command would run the activities. Discipline, meaning about following all the rules that have been agreed upon. Willingness, in which case the patient should be able to develop his will. Overcoming disability, disability means if it can not resolve themselves, then others will have difficulty in helping. Eliminate dependence, patients should have the attitude removes the dependency on others.

Rehabilitation process may fail due to the negative attitudes of individuals with disabilities to the rehabilitation process, and usually this negative attitude has a background influence, which are related to each other, for example, feelings of insecurity, there is no emotional maturity, deep anxiety, strong feelings of inferiority, there is no resistance to frustration, personal problems, lack of motivation, and attitude is not fair. But they can also come from a family background and environment.

Goals to be achieved are:
To independence of every individual so as to eliminate the dependence of the individual against another person;
Restore a sense of self-esteem, self-confidence, awareness and responsibility towards the future;
Restoring a willingness and ability to carry out normal social function, and physical healing also healing the social situation as a whole.

Notice of persons with physical barriers, such as rehabilitation has targeted one of the defects that were amputated limbs, malformed, paraplegia, cerebral palsy, patients with poliomyelitis.

The main scope of issues to be addressed and dealt with in the framework of the implementation of social welfare development program includes two things namely;
Humans are not able to perform its social function as pathological and non-pathological factors,
Social dynamics that includes all the dynamic factors and conditions that can be extracted and used as power and social fund to encourage changes in order to make social development and strengthen national stability and improving national health.
